David Merrill - D.C., Clinic Director
Merrill Chiropractic opened on 02/06/93 with my wife and mother as my staff of support. We were blessed that first day with 12 new patients, and it took from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm to process each of those patients. Since that beginning I have focused exclusively on the Gonstead technique as the vehicle to restore joint and nerve dysfunction in the spine and extremities. This technique of spinal examination and correction is safe and specific. In addition to a strong practice , Dr. Gonstead also developed a research database to support the science behind the Gonstead difference for spinal restoration.
I strive to maintain a strong faith by a relationship with God the Father, through God the Son and led by God the Holy Spirit in order to focus each day to be a conduit of healing from the great physician into the lives of my patients. For me, everyday at Merrill Chiropractic is simply a blessing where God allows me to be a part of a ministry of reconciliation of physical, emotional and spiritual health of each individual that we come in contact with on a daily basis. It is a blessing to be a blessing!

Tommas Bettini (Licensed Massage Therapist)

I was born in Johnson City, Tennessee in 1960. Raised in Kingsport, I attended Dobyns-Bennett and graduated in 1978. From then until 2,000, I was a professional musician touring the United States and Europe, and recorded music for several major record labels. After close to 30 years on the road, I was ready to come home and settle down. I still played locally, but I wanted to do something completely new and different.
In 2006, I enrolled in Reflections of Health School of Massage in Johnson City, and graduated 4th in my class. I worked in several hair salons and day spas until long time friend and former classmate, Dr. H. David Merrill, D.C. offered me a postition at Merrill Chiropractic doing a more medically oriented type of therapeutic massage. I I accepted, and have never looked back. Since then, I have studied several different types of medical type massage including Neuromuscular Re-education, (NMR)and Repetitive Use Injury Therapy (RUIT) Between these methods of massage, being mentored and trained by Dr. Merrill, and constantly being in a medical environment, my massage technique, knowledge, and ability has increased dramatically. In short:
I LOVE MY JOB!
On any given day at work, I address sciatica, carpal tunnel, chronic low back pain, tendonitis, rotator cuff/shoulder pain, neck pain, heel spurs, dowagers Hump, and fibromyalgia, just to name a few.
And yes, I still do massage for just plain old stress!

I graduated Holston Instistute of Healing Arts Massage Therapy School in April 2005. I use Hot-stone massage and relaxation massage techniques to relax and soothe muscular pain and stiffness.
I furthered my training with "Barefoot Masters" in learning Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage. The Ashiatsu Massage technique is different but not new. Ashiatsu massage has been practiced in Asia and many other countries. It is a technique that may deliver firm to very deep tissue. Ashiatus barefoot massage is more tolerable because it offers a broad relaxing pressure instead of sharp, painful pressure of many deep tissue massage
